Purchase a BMW Carbon Fiber Hoods

MINI COOPER CARBON FIBER HOODS, TRUNKS AND FENDERS

Incubus Racing asked us to help them lighten up thier 2003 Min Cooper set up and how did we respond? Carbon Fiber of Course. We were able to shave off over 92 pounds by removing the stock metal hood, trunk and fenders and replacing them with some new toys from VIS racing.

Luckily VIS was able to supply us with all of the products we requested. These new Mini Cooper carbon fiber parts were hot off the assembly line and not even logged into the 2004-05 price guide when we rounded them up.

The VIS Oem carbon fiber hood looked absolutely magnificent when we took it out of the box. The hood featured all of VISs selling points such as a glossy urethane clear coat, rolled edges, high modulus carbon weave with near perfect layering.

At the time we were putting the package together, we also found an OEM carbon fiber hood by Carbon Creations. Since VIS was on the up and up providing also the Mini Cooper carbon fiber trunk and Min Cooper carbon fiber fenders we thought we would go all the way with them.

Impressively, VIS was able to produce a great looking product given the complexity of the OEM molds. We noticed clean lines and all of the curves were free of wrinkles and crosshatching on our products.

The only downfall to the package was the price. Although parts like this are expected to have a high price tag, we were a little bit taken by the price of the fenders at $699 for the pair. The hood wasnt too outrageous for a Euro car, nor was the trunk but when we added it all up and then added the expensive freight and insurance charges we were up around $1800.

All in all the car turned out magnificent. We were pleased to see how great the car looked with the black carbon fiber parts set against the pearl black paint job of the project car.
